Large Item Tags & Garbage Bag Tags
Notice:
Due to the Canada Post Strike, mail services to and from the Town of Newmarket are temporarily suspended. Large item tags and garbage tags can be purchased in person at the Municipal Offices, Magna Centre, Ray Twinney Recreation Complex, Operations Centre, Newmarket Seniors' Meeting Place and Newmarket Public Library. Please note that only cashless transactions are accepted at the Operations Centre.
Note: If your location or building receives private waste collection, we recommend contacting your building manager or condo board with any questions regarding large item pickup.
Green Bins and Kitchen Catchers
Green bins and kitchen catchers can be purchased online
through newmarket.perfectmind.com and then click on ‘Online Store’. You
will need to create an Xplor account to place an order. Alternatively, you can contact Customer Service at 905-895-5193. Bins will be delivered to your home by GFL.
Blue Bins
Notice to Residents: The blue bin is currently available to purchase; however, on December 31, 2025, the Town of Newmarket is scheduled to transition to a new Blue Box collector. As of January 1, 2026, Circular Materials will introduce automated recycling collection using 95-gallon wheeled carts, which will replace the traditional blue box. More information about these changes can be found on the Blue Box Recycling page under the 'Blue Box Transition' section.

Backyard Composters
Earth Machine backyard composters can be purchased online
through newmarket.perfectmind.com and then clicking on ‘Online Store’. You
will need to create an Xplor account to make an order. Alternatively, you can contact Customer Service at 905-895-5193. Composters will be delivered to your home.
Composters are also available for purchase in-person at the Operations Centre. Please note that only cashless transactions are accepted at the Operations Centre. Broken Blue Box or Green Bin
Notice to Residents: Broken blue boxes can still be exchanged free of charge. However, as of December 31, 2025, the Town of Newmarket will transition to a new recycling system. Beginning January 1, 2026, 95-gallon wheeled carts introduced through Circular Materials (CM) will replace the traditional blue box.
Blue boxes and green bins are replaced free of charge if broken. Residents can call our waste collection contractor Green for Life (GFL) at 1-866-421-5625 to schedule a replacement bin exchange. Broken blue boxes or green bins must be at the curb on the date of exchange agreed to with our contractor GFL in order to receive a replacement bin. Alternatively, bins may also be replaced at the Operations Centre.
