Notice: Changes to the Town's Battery Recycling Program
The Town’s battery recycling provider will be discontinuing its municipal program and has prematurely removed collection bins from all Town facilities without prior notice. The bins are expected to be returned to Town facilities in the near future.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage residents to continue to dispose of used household batteries safely by visiting one of the many alternative drop-off locations available.
Recycling batteries is very important as batteries contain various heavy metals such as nickel, zinc, lead, mercury, lithium, cobalt, and cadmium. Recycling allows materials to be recovered, reused, and disposed of properly, keeping these hazardous materials out of landfill.
