Call for Activations
Submissions will focus on the theme of
'Many Voices, One Community.' Application deadline May, 29, 2026.
Culture is not a single story—it is a living conversation shaped by the people who share space, time, and experience together.
Many Voices, One Community invites artists, organizations, and residents to reflect on the rich diversity that makes our community vibrant, resilient, and connected.
In 2026, Culture Days activations are called to celebrate the voices, traditions, and creative expressions that coexist and evolve side by side. This theme encourages reflection on belonging, shared experiences, and the ways culture is expressed through language, food, movement, music, storytelling, craft, and everyday creativity. Many Voices, One Community is a call to listen, to share, and to create together—recognizing that our differences do not divide us but deepen our understanding of what it means to belong.
Activations will include visual arts, culinary experiences, dance, theatre, music, history and heritage, photography, culinary arts, craft, storytelling, etc. Locations are throughout the downtown core of Newmarket and include:
- Newmarket Old Town Hall (460 Botsford Street)
- NewRoads Performing Arts Centre (505 Pickering Crescent)
- Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall (200 Doug Duncan Drive)
