Become a Town of Newmarket Volunteer

The Town of Newmarket's Recreation and Culture Department has many volunteer opportunities available for residents to get involved in their community. 


NewRoads Performing Arts Centre and Old Town Hall  

Interested in the performing arts? Volunteering at the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre and Newmarket's Old Town Hall provides a rewarding opportunity to support theatre productions, dance programs, events, and concerts. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with ushering, ticket taking, concession and coat check.

Elman W. Campbell Museum 

Do you have a passion for local history? The Elman W. Campbell Museum is happy to welcome volunteers to assist with a variety of duties including research, tours, program assistance, exhibit set up and tear down, and artifact accessioning and digitizing.

Summer Camps

Interested in building your experience for future employment? Want to make a difference in your community? Looking to help make summer camp a fun an inclusive place for all? The Town of Newmarket has a free Summer Camp Volunteer Training for youth looking to gain experience working with children and developing their leadership skills!

Successful candidates will be contacted regarding their one-week camp placement following the course and can use these hours towards their high school volunteer hours! Successful candidates are those that are actively listening and engaged during the entirety of the course, respectful towards other participants and the instructor, and show an interest in the volunteer position. Please come to class with the Volunteer Application filled out. This will be sent to participants prior to the course via email.

Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older by the start of the course.

Recreation Youth Centre and telMAX Indoor Skate Park

Interested in building your experience for future employment? Want to make a difference in your community? Looking to help make the Recreation Youth Centre & TelMAX Indoor Skate Park a fun an inclusive place for all? The Town of Newmarket has a volunteer program for youth looking to gain experience working with children & youth, while developing their leadership skills! RYC Volunteers volunteer their time to provide staff with extra support throughout programs and the facility. This program is a one-day course needed to be eligible to volunteer at the RYC. Successful candidates will be contacted regarding their placement following the course and can use these hours towards their high school volunteer hours! Successful candidates are those that are actively listening and engaged during the entirety of the course, respectful towards other participants and the instructor, and show an interest in the volunteer position. Please come to class with the Volunteer Application filled out. This will be sent to participants prior to the class via email.
